The Art of Winemaking and Writing — 9 Comments

  1. Well, I guess you know I love wine, Christa. I have a glass every night before bed — in fact, I have it in bed. I'm no snob, though. I like what I like.

And I certainly agree that writing a book takes time. I'm still in the "ferment, bubble, and rise" stage on my next one.

See you on the slow boat! 🙂

  2. Hi Christa –
I found you via my friend Aris' blog.
Well first – I live in upstate NY but my family came from Switzerland!
I still have a lot of family there I have never met, and I have never been there… maybe some day. It is very beautiful there.

And second – Since I live in upstate NY (don't know if you know this) but I live right in the middle of wine country! NY is huge wine country! I have over 60 wineries within 30 mi. of my house!!! How great is that? I always but local and never go to the liqueur store, I always just go right to the winery.

Well, nice chatting with you 😉

  3. Hello Wall-to-wall books! I tried very hard to find out your "real" name but wasn't successful. So nice of you to drop by! I didn't even realize that NY is a huge wine country. Live and learn! I lived in New York City many years ago and also spent some time in Upstate NY. Well, it looks like you are right in the middle of wonderful wineries. I just signed up for one of your blogs.
Cheers, or as they say in the German part of Switzerland: Proscht!

  4. I believe that making wine, like writing books, requires a passion for the craft. Both require time and patience. Just as drinking a fine wine is like reading a good book. Both need to be savoured. Great analogy.
