Train Ride from the Grand Canyon to Williams a la Wild West — 8 Comments

  1. How SHOCKING! Those poor bandits! I heard the news reports that it was YOU who really saved the day. Coming on to those bandidos may have seemed like an act of bravery on your part, but we know the shameful truth! No wonder those guys got off the train as soon as possible and ran screaming into the hills. Perhaps your scandalous reputation preceeded you? (Writing your phone number on the dollar bill, too… How NOT surprising!) I’m glad they…er, uh…you and Diane survived the ordeal.

  2. Hello Monster A GoGo! The only one missing on this train was YOU! Of course, you would’ve been in cahoots with the robbers. Yep.

  3. This was wonderful, Christa. Thank you so much for sharing this. I was rather startled on my first quick read, but seeing the smiling faces of the “terrified” passengers, I was smiling too.

What a very fun experience — once I realized what I was looking at!

  4. Wow, this reminds me of when I was a kid in Michigan. My family went to Frontier town and took a train ride which was “held up” by bandits. I’m surprised that this “tradition” is still carrying on.
Did you find the Grand Canyon to be over-crowded?

  5. Thanks, Evelyn, for dropping by! The Grand Canyon was busy, lots of tourists, but because we took the train, we at least didn’t have to worry about parking. I thought it would be exciting to spend the night there during the less crowded season, to watch the sunset and sunrise and get a feeling of the grandeur of this place without a lot of people around. Perhaps one day …
